     Robert Hillsley was born in Derby, Derbyshire, in 1860.

     Robert Hillsley was married to Ann Cripwell, daughter of William Cripwell and Emily Riley, in 1885 in Derby, Derbyshire. Their Marriage was recorded in the Derby Registration District in the Jul-Aug-Sep Quarter of 1885.1

          In the 1891 U.K.Census, held on Sunday, 5 April 1891, Robert was recorded as the Head of the Household at 8 Jackson's Yard, Nuns Street, Derby, Derbyshire, also in the Household were Ann Hillsley, Florence Hillsley, Millicent Hillsley and Henry Joseph Cripwell,

     Robert Hillsley was left a Widower on the Death of his wife, Ann, whose Death was Registered in the Derby Registration District, in the Oct-Nov-Dec Quarter of 1894.3

     Robert died in May 1933 in the Infirmary, Derby, Derbyshire.4 He was buried at Nottingham Road Cemetery, Derby, Derbyshire, on Saturday, 13 May 1933, Hillsley, Robert, Carter age 68 in the Infirmary, Derby. Buried on 13 May 933 by H M Mowell. Grave number 22904, Consecrated.4
