"LOCAL RESIDENT TAKES OWN LIFE
Winston Oliver Brown, 39, of 115 State St., driver and salesman for a local beer distributing firm, took his own life by hanging Tuesday night.
Brown's wife, Caroline, and a daughter, Laurie, 4, found his body in the basement of their home at 8:50 p.m. He hanged himself from a basement rafter brace with a piece of electric cord.
The physician who examined the body told police he could not tell how long Brown had been dead. Mrs. Brown said she and Laurie left the house about 8 p.m. and he was alive.
He had been employed by the Buechler Blatz Distributing Co. for the past seven years. Survivors, in addition to his wife and four year old daughter, are:
A second daughter, Louise, 14; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Harold Brown, of Stone Bank; a sister, Mrs. Elmer Muehl, of Stone Bank; and a brother, Floyd, of Milwaukee.
Funeral services will be Friday at 2 p.m. at the Erling Larson Funeral home with burial at Prairie Home cemetery. The body will be in state at the funeral home after 3 p.m. Thursday, where a parish vigil will be held at 8:15 p.m."1

     He was buried in Prairie Home Cemetery, Waukesha Co. on Friday, 5 August 1955.1
