     St. Michael & All Angels Church Marriage Register - "James Hurd and Martha Johnson both of this Parish were Married in this Church by Banns this 28 day of January 1811.
     Both Signed the Register and were Witnessed by Joseph Allsibrow and Eliza Curtis."3

     James Hurd was left a Widower at the age of 34, on the death of his wife, Martha in June 1821 in Church Broughton, Derbyshire.
