The last Will and Testament of Mr John Bull of Wootton Parkside Ellaston, Staffordshire. Dated 12th April 1852.
     This is the last will and testament of one John Bull of Wootton Parkside in the Parish of Ellaston and County of Stafford. First, I will and direct that all my just debts funeral expenses and the cost proving this my will be paid as soon as may be after my decease. Then I give, will, direct and bequeath unto my beloved wife Ellen Bull all cows, calves, stirks (A heifer or bullock, especially between one and two years old.) and all and every other cattle and all fowls, and horses, Carts, farming implements and all and every other implement of whatever kind and wheresoever it may be at the time of my decease belonging to me for the term of her natural life. I also give, will, devise and bequeath all my household furniture, plate, linen, wearing apparel and all and every other piece furniture that I may be possessed of unto my dear wife for the use and benefit for the term of her natural life. On and after the decease of my said wife I will and direct that the whole of the live and dead stock with the household furniture and other effects remaining at the time of my said dear wife decease shall be valued by one or more persons as may be agreed upon by my sons and daughters surviving my said dear wife such persons or person to be chosen by my said then surviving children. On and after such calculation I give the whole, and direct, will bequeath the same unto my children their heirs and assigns for his, her or their own absolute use and benefit for ever. To be divide equally amongst them share and share alike and if any of my children now living should die leaving lawful issue or heirs then the such children shall take such father's or mother's share as he would have if living to be equally divided amongst them if more than one for his, her, or their absolute use and benefit for ever. I also will and direct that my wife shall have the whole power and control of the farming stock, live and dead and full power to buy, and sell when she thinks proper so to do and shall have full possession all I may die possessed of for her own use and benefit for the term of her natural life without any interruption ? ? hinderance from any of my children. I hereby appoint my dear wife Executrix and my wife's brother-in-law, Isaac Turner of the Above Park Cheadle Staffordshire Executor jointly to this my last will and testament. In witness whereof I have put my hand to the two first sides of this sheets containing my will and to this third and last side I year of our Lord one thousand, eight hundred and fifty two. Signed sealed delivered and published by will and testament in our presence who at his request, in his presence and in the presence of each other have put our names as witnesses. Frances Draycott. ?      John died on Tuesday, 12 August 1856 in Park Side Farm, Ramshorn, Staffordshire. He was survived by his wife, Ellen.

      John Bull was buried in St. Peter's Cemetery, Ellastone, Staffordshire, in August 1856.

     He was Baptised on Thursday, 28 March 1805 in St. Mary & All Saints Church, Checkley, Staffordshire .
     St. Mary & All Saints Church Baptismal Register Entry - "John the son of John & his wife Ann Bull, of Checkley, Husbandman was born 26th. day of March & baptized the 28th. day of March 1805."2

     John Bull, son of John Bull and Ann Upton, was married to Harriet Horobin on Monday, 4 February 1833 at St. Mary & All Saints Church, Checkley, Staffordshire.
     The details from the Marriage Certificate are - John Bull, a Bachelor & Lodger of Fole of this Parish & Harriet Horobin a Spinster & Lodger of Upper Tean, of this Parish were married by Banns this fourth day of February 1833. Witnessed by William Bull, William Hull & Ann Walker.3
