     Longton Magistrates, Monday [29.03.1875]:
Margaret Tipper pleaded for mercy for a boy who stole her son's wages:
     "An orphan named Samuel Simcock, fifteen years of age, was charged with stealing 6s, the money of another lad named Christopher Tipper.
The boys were engaged in similar occupations on Mr Barlow's manufactory, and on Saturday the complainant received 6s as wages.
He placed the money as he thought, in a secure position, but some time after in looking for it, it was missing.
The prisoner was the only person who had been in the room.
The prisoner at first stoutly denied having taken the money, but when given into the custody of the police officer,
admitted taking it, adding that he did not intend to keep it.
     The complainant's mother pleaded for the prisoner. Ultimately, prisoners older brother was bound as surety for six months."

     Enos Tipper and Sarah Tipper were joined in 1897 by their niece, Dora F. Tipper.8

     In the 1900 US Census it is recorded that Enos Tipper was born in February 1853 in England, a Carpenter, living at 309 Sherbrooke Street, Cleveland, Ohio together with Sarah Tipper, born in April 1862 in England. They arrived in the U.S.A. in 1884, Enos is Naturalised but Sarah is not. Both are able to read and write, no children, owners of their house with a mortgage. Their niece Dora was with them in 1900.8

     Walter Tipper, son of Daniel Tipper and Sarah Bentley, died on Sunday, 12 December 1869 in Cheadle, Staffordshire, his Death was Registered at the Cheadle Register Office in the Oct-Nov-Dec Quarter of 1869, He was survived by his wife, Martha.9,10,11 Walter Tipper was buried in St. Giles Church, Cheadle, Staffordshire, on Thursday, 16 December 1869.
     Monumental Inscription - Walter Tipper, of Watt Place, Cheadle, died 12 December 1869, aged 45.9
