He had a motor-bike accident that damaged one side of his face, after his recovery Iain and Mary ran a Post Office and shop in Nevilles Cross in Durham. after 1945 in South Shields, Northumberland.

Stewart, of Sarcomatous Tumour of Head, Informant David Henderson, Widower, (present) at Tibbermore on March 7th. 1887.", she was survived by her husband David Ian Henderson.10 Janet Margaret Henderson nee Ramsay was buried in The Parochial Burial Ground No.2, Perth, Perthshire, Scotland, on Tuesday, 7 March 1893.
