     St. Peter's Church Baptismal Register Entry - "Catherine, daughter of Elizabeth and John Lunn, a Labourer of Nether Seal, was Baptised."1

          The U.K.Census of 6 June 1841 listed her in the Household of John Lunn, at Granville Row, Church Gresley, Hamlet of Swadlincote, Derbyshire, who is listed as -

     Catherine's entry for the 1841 Census was recorded as -
          Catherine Lunn     11     ---     No - Not Born in this County.2

     RESEARCHERS SHOULD PLEASE NOTE:
In the Marriage Register Image Transcription below, it will be seen that the Bride's Forename is written as Caroline.
     I do not believe that this entry is correct but should have in fact have been entered as Catherine.
In subsequent Census Entries she is described as Catherine and in the 1841, where she is listed as being with her Parents and Siblings she is Catherine. A suitable Baptism in the Name of Catherine has been located and the dates of these events 'fit' well with all entries of Events in which she appears.
     Further, the Marriage Register Entry was Signed with Her X Mark as was that of her Husband - John and one of the Witnesses also.
     I believe that the Officiating Minister entered the Forename as he had heard it said but written as he thought it was pronounced. It is unlikely that this entry was queried at the time as it appears that the attendees were not likely to have been able to verify the written details!
     In the interests of fellow researchers, I am posting the Bride's Forename in my main Index as 'Caroline Lunn', but in all entries where she appears, she will be listed as 'Catherine'.3

     Catherine was usually known as Caroline Lunn.

     Caroline Lunn, daughter of John Lunn and Elizabeth, was married to John Salt on Saturday, 14 October 1848 at Church of St.Mary the Virgin, Newton Solney, Derbyshire.
     Entry #29 - John Salt, of Full Age, a Bachelor, a Labourer of Newton, son of John Salt, a Labourer was Married by Banns to 'Caroline' Lunn, of Full Age, a Spinster of Newton, daughter of John Lunn, a Labourer.
     Both signed the Register with their X Marks and were Witnessed by John Adams and Jabez X Hyson..1

     The 1851 U.K.Census listed her as the Wife of the Head of Household - John Salt, at Newton Solney, Derbyshire, who is recorded as -

     Catherine Salt, daughter of John Lunn and Elizabeth, died in 1880 in Newhall, Burton on Trent, Derbyshire, her Death was Registered at the Burton on Trent Register Office in the Jan-Feb-Mar Quarter of 1880, She was survived by her husband, John.7

     She was buried in St.John's Church, Burton on Trent on Friday, 9 January 1880.
