     George Ridgard, son of George Ridgard and Emma Hunt, died in September 1838, in Kirk Langley, Derbyshire,"the Church Register states that "he hanged himself"", he was survived by his wife Mary Ridgard.5

     He was buried in St. Michael's Church, Kirk Langley in September 1838.4

     Extract from the Derby Mercury newspaper of September 5th 1838.
'Inquest before Mr Whiston Jun. Coroner, Saturday last at Kirk Langley on the body of George Ridgard who was found at 6 o'clock that morning suspended by a rope over a beam in his own shop. The deceased whilst in a state of intoxication had been quarrelling with one of his sons and after the quarrel went to bed; he got up soon after 3 o'clock in the morning of Saturday and went to his shop, as it was thought by the family, to his work, but it was for a different purpose as he was found quite dead as before stated. The jury after a careful examination into the case returned a verdict “that the deceased destroyed himself whilst labouring under temporary derangement."6 '

     St. Michael's Church Marriage Register - "Banns of Marriage between George Ridgegard of the Parish of Langley & Margaret Bowler of the Parish of Brailsford were published on three several Sundays without Contradiction.
     The said George Ridgegard of the Parish of Langley and the said Margaret Bowler of the Parish of Brailsford were Married in this Church by Banns this 2nd day of August 1876 by me Jn. Bayley.
     Marriage solemnized between George and Margaret with their X Mark, Witnessed by William Heath and James Ault."2,3

     George and Margaret's child, Elizabeth Ridgard, was Baptised on 29 May 1768 in St. Michael's Church, Kirk Langley, Derbyshire; Elizabeth, daughter of George and Margaret Ridgegard was Baptised.4

          George Ridgard was a Witness of the Signatures at the Marriage of George Ridgard and Emma Hunt on 6 July 1782 in St. Alkmund's Church, Derby, Derbyshire,
     The details from the Marriage Certificate are - Entry #210 - George Rigard of the Parish of Langley, Junr and Emm Hunt of Little Eaton in this Parish were Married in this Church by Licence this Sixth Day of July 1782.

     George Ridgard was left a Widower on the death of his wife, Margaret on 18 December 1787 in Kirk Langley, Derbyshire.3

     George Ridgard died in April 1803, in Kirk Langley, Derbyshire.3

     He was buried in St. Michael's Church, Kirk Langley on Tuesday, 12 April 1803.
