     Jonathon Atkins was married to Ann Tipper, daughter of Thomas Tipper and Dorothy, on Saturday, 26 December 1699.
     Lichfield Cathedral Marriage Register Entry - "Ann Tipper was Married to Jonathon Atkins."1,2

     Jonathon Atkins was a Beneficiary of the Will of Thomas Tipper written on 20 July 1718;
and bequeathed:
- to his son, James, a Cottage demised to Thomas by lease in 1697 plus £10
- to his grandson John, son of James, an interest in the cottage, plus two beds and other furniture
- to his granddaughter Mary, daughter of Walter, £5
- to his granddaughter Dorothy, daughter of Jonathon Atkins, £5
- to her sister Elizabeth, £15
the residue to Jonathon Atkins
- to his grandson Thomas Tipper, 40 shillings
The Will, which Thomas signed with his mark, is held by Lichfield Record Office.
It indicates that he was not a pauper. It is puzzling that the residue of his estate, valuable or not, should be left to his son-in-law Jonathon Atkins. The absence of his daughter Ann Atkins from the Will implies that she was already dead herself. Perhaps the elderly, Widowed Thomas lived with Ann and later Jonathon.1

It indicates that he was not a pauper. It is puzzling that the residue of his estate, valuable or not, should be left to his son-in-law Jonathon Atkins. The absence of his daughter Ann Atkins from the Will implies that she was already dead herself. Perhaps the elderly, Widowed Thomas lived with Ann and later Jonathon.2
