     Obituary.
George Prince of Marston Park – Well-Known Marston Montgomery Agriculturist
Born at Marston Park, which had also been his residence for so many years before his death. He received his education at the Uttoxeter Grammar School, and subsequently spent some years with a business house in Manchester. He, however, gave early evidence of his desire to follow his father’s occupation, and he left Manchester to take up farming. His father was at that time the occupant of Marston Park, and, in 1891, he succeeded his parent as owner of that place. Deceased effected many improvements, and was generally recognised as one of the leading agriculturists in the locality.
Although a member of the Church of England, he frequently occupied the pulpits in Nonconformist churches and took part in functions outside the pale of his own denomination. He had been a member, since its formation, of the Rocester Primitive Methodist Mutual Improvement Society, by which his services were highly valued. In addition to being a frequent contributor to the meetings of the society, he gave considerable financial help, and also periodically entertained the members at his picturesque residence. A Unionist in politics, he was well known as a public speaker at election times. The poor of the district had in him a firm friend, and his acts of philanthropy have been many and varied. In 1884 he married Miss Smith, then headmistress of Marston School, and there are two sons and four daughters, with whom and the widow sincere sympathy is felt.10
