     On 3 April 1833 "On Tuesday, the 26th ult. at St. Peter's Church, Liverpool, by the Rev. J. Brooks, Rector, Mr. Samuel Tipper of Whitebrook, Montgomeryshire to Elizabeth daughter of the late Johnson Gore, of the former place."4

     In the U.K.Census of 30 March 1851, Samuel was recorded as residing at 38, 39, 40 New Bridge Street, St. Brides, London.

     In 1809 "On Thursday the 13th inst, at Stilton, Huntingdonshire, much lamented by his family and friends. Mr Joseph Tipper, of Newark-upon-Trent" (Derby Mercury 20.07.1809, from John Wain); [this might well be at the well-known Stilton Inn, whilst travelling the Great North Road between Newark and London]; the will of Joseph Tipper, a Pattenmaker of Newark, was proved in the Diocesan Court of York on 16.08.1809, the Executor being Samuel Tipper, a Bookseller of Leadenhall Street, London; a life interest in his estate was left to his wife Mary, then to his three sons, Samuel, Philip and ?"Benj" when 21 (Death Duty Registers, Kew.)2

By me Willm. Goode, Curate. The Marriage was solemnised between us - Philip Tipper and Ann Brown. In the presence of R. Brown and Mary Ann Brown."3

     George Tipper was left a Widower on the death of his wife, Marianne on 7 May 1866 in Kurrachee, East Indies (India).5 George Tipper was listed as the Executor of the Will of Elizabeth Tipper, which was Proved and Probate granted on the Estate on 12 May 1870; Letters of Administration for the Estate of Elizabeth Tipper, late of Jerbourg, Guernsey, Widow, died 16 January 1869 in Jerbourg, granted on 12 May 1870 to George Tipper of 5 Brookland Road, Old Swan, Liverpool, son and one of her next of kin. Estate Value <£600.6

     George died on Thursday, 29 December 1870 at 5 Brookland Road, Old Swan, Liverpool, Lancashire.5,7

     In the U.K.Census of 30 March 1851, Thomas was recorded as residing at 15 Portland Street, Southampton, Hampshire.
     Thomas's listing is -
     Thomas C. Alban     Visitor     Unmarried     24     Capt. Army (H.E.T.C.S)     London (in the household of Edmund and Septime LUCAS).2

     Thomas Clifton Alban, son of Anne Alban, was married to Elizabeth Gore Tipper, daughter of Samuel Tipper and Elizabeth Gore, in Shirley, Southampton, Hampshire, on Saturday, 27 December 1851.
     Their Marriage was recorded in the South Hampshire Registration District in the Oct-Nov-Dec Quarter of 1851.3

     On 1 October 1859 - "Promotion to Captain (Brevet-Major) Thomas Clifton ALBAN of the 8th (Bombay) Native Infantry" on 1 October 1859, listed in the London Gazette of 13 January 1863 page 218.1

     Thomas Clifton Alban has not been located in the UK Census of 6 April 1861 (probably still in India.)4

     Thomas Clifton Alban, son of Anne Alban, died on Monday, 19 December 1864,"1864 Thomas died in Guernsey, leaving Elizabeth a widow, with boys aged 2, 4,8 and 10. "Letters of Administration of the Personal estate and effects of Thomas Clifton Alban late of the Island of Guernsey Esquire a Captain and Brevet-Major in Her Majesty's Staff Corps deceased who died 19 December 1864 at Guernsey aforesaid were granted at the Principal Registry to James Matthews of 55 Parliament-street Westminster in the county of Middlesex Gentleman a Creditor of the said Deceased he having been first sworn. Effects under £50. 12.06.1865." (National Probate Calendar, Ancestry). It appears that Thomas was in serious financial and possibly other difficulties.", he was survived by his wife Elizabeth Gore Alban.1

     Son of a London Solicitor; Educated at Rugby School; joined the Bombay Infantry as an Ensign in 1844 and rose to be Deputy Judge Advocate for the British Army in India.1

     The death occurred suddenly at Stoke
Gabriel, South Devonshire, on the 6th inst.,
of Mr. Arthur David Alban, O.B.E., who
was in his 66th year. He was a son of the
late Major T. C. Alban, of the Bombay
Staff Corps, and for a time was a day boy
and subsequently a boarder at Cheltenham
College. Later on he passed a competitive
examination for a student interpretership in
the Levant, and in 1893 began a life con-
nection with the Consular service. He was
first stationed at Constantinople, and succes-
siveley at Beirut and Damascus, Alexandria,
Cairo, and again at Alexandria as Consul
General.5

Promoted to be Consul, to reside at Alexandria, December 10, 1901; and Consul at Cairo, for the Consular District of Cairo, March .27, 1903.
Was British Delegate to the International Sanitary Conference at Paris, October -November, 1903. Received the Coronation Medal, 1911.
The maritime portion of Mudiria of Keneh was excluded from the District of the Consulate, and a new Commission issued to Mr. Alban, April 1, 1918.
Made an O.B.E.June 3, 1918.
Promoted to be Consul-General at Alexandria, October 1, 1919.
Retired on a pension, March 17, 1924.3

     William Gore Alban, son of Thomas Clifton Alban and Elizabeth Gore Tipper, died on Wednesday, 3 October 1906, in Caterham, Surrey,"from an overdose of laudenam."1

     Like his brother Clifton, he joined the Bombay Native Infantry.1

     David Bilham was born in 1835.


     David Bilham was married to Lucy Ellen Tipper, daughter of Samuel Tipper and Elizabeth Gore, in Hampshire in 1861.
     Their Marriage was recorded in the South Stoneham Registration District in the Apr-May-Jun Quarter of 1861.1

     David Bilham died in 1870 in Lancashire, his Death was Registered at the W.Derby Register Office in the Jan-Feb-Mar Quarter of 1870, He was survived by his wife, Lucy.2
