Was Married by Banns to Mary Ann Jackson; aged 18 years; a Spinster of 32 White Cross Place, daughter of Joseph Jackson, a Carter. Thomas Signed and Mary Ann Marked. Witnessed by Thomas Tipper and Jane Tipper."1

     Mary Ann Tipper, daughter of Joseph Jackson, died before 1880,"No information has been located about the Death of Mary Ann Tipper, however, in the 1881 Census - Thomas is remarried and has 5 children. I have not yet been able to ascertain who was the mother of these children either Mary Jane or Christina", she was survived by her husband Thomas Tipper.2

However I have not been able to find a 1911 Census entry for either family nor any children citing TIPPER as the mother. I have also looked at possible Death Registrations for Harriet but have not found anything conclusive.4

     In 1898 Alfred Tipper joined the Royal Navy. His Service Number was 201253, a search of Royal Naval Records shows a single page of Record Service but is essentially unreadable due to a poor copy having been archived.
Other sources shows that he Served on.

     In the U.K.Census of 31 March 1901, Alfred was recorded as residing at on H.M.S. Benbow, off Keyham Dockyard, Devonport, Devon.
