He worked as a Coppersmith and eventually was a Chargehand in the Experimental department of Rolls Royce. He was also believed to have been an Apprentice at Henry Royce's factory in Manchester."1
     He was buried in Nottingham Road Cemetery, Derby on Tuesday, 1 December 1942.1
