James Shardlow, son of James Shardlow and Elizabeth F. Heaps, was married to Annie Keeling, daughter of Clarke Keeling, on Monday, 3 November 1913 at Our Lady and St. Patrick's Church, Nottingham, Nottinghamshire, Nottingham.
The details from the Marriage Certificate are - Entry #129 - James Shardlow, 20 years, Bachelor, Coal Miner of 37 Finch Street, Nottingham, son of James Shardlow, Colliery Banksman & Annie Keeling, 18 years, Spinster of 16 Newmarket Yard, Finch Street, Nottingham, daughter of Clarke Keeling, deceased, Frame Work Knitter. Married in the Catholic Church according to the Rites and Ceremonies of the Roman Catholics by Certificate. Witnessed by George Shardlow and Lizzie Shardlow.4,5

Presumably there was a Divorce as Annie Shardlow nee Keeling lived with Thomas Thorne after a few years and had several children with him while still married to James. There is no further evidence of those children so it is assumed that they took their father's name after the marriage of Annie Shardlow to Thomas Thorne in 1923.

Anthony Titley1

ID# 15299, born around 1640, died 1701
Anthony Titley was born around 1640, assumed from birthdate of first known child.1

Anthony Titley was married to Rose about 1670 assumed from birthdate of first known child.

Anthony Titley died in 1701, in Hollin House, Checkley, Staffordshire.

"All six children of Anthony and Rose were baptised at Sandon, Staffs., (IGI), but Anthony died at Checkley in 1701, 'of Hollin House', and Rose in 1733. Anthony's Will was signed by Thomas Titley 'of Checkley ' in 1701. His signature was quite distinctive - he signed as Tho Titley. I am confident that it is the same signature that appears in the churchwardens' minute books for Checkley Parish in 1732. This Thomas was appointed as a churchwarden in 1730. In 1729 he had been appointed as Overseer of the poor for the Netherside of the Parish - ' Thomas Titley of the Holly Wood Farm '. Thus I believe all the right connections can be made to put Thomas and Anthony into the direct line" - Jane Titley - 2005.
