     George Billings, son of William Billings and Ann Jackson, was born in Cubley, Derbyshire, in 1842.1


     The U.K.Census of 7 April 1861 listed him as a Nephew of the Head of Household - Thomas Jackson, at 221 & 223 Oldham Road, Manchester, Lancashire, who is recorded as -
          Thomas Jackson     Head     Unmarried     40     Grocer & Tea Dealer     DBY. Cubley.2
     George's entry for the 1861 Census was recorded as -
          George Billings     Nephew     Unmarried     19     App. Grocer & Tea Dealer     DBY. Cubley.2
