     Ann Bassett, daughter of James Birch and Elizabeth Ratcliffe, died in 1896 in Staffordshire, her Death was Registered at the Cannock Register Office in the Apr-May-Jun Quarter of 1896, She was survived by her husband, James.5

     Esther Birch, daughter of James Birch and Elizabeth Ratcliffe, was married to Ralph Booth, son of Thomas Booth and Cecilia Withington, in St. Mark's Church, Shelton, Stoke on Trent, Staffordshire, in 1874.
     Their Marriage was recorded in the Stoke on Trent Registration District in the Jan-Feb-Mar Quarter of 1874.7

     The 1881 U.K.Census listed her as the Wife of the Head of Household - Ralph Booth, at Leek Road, Caverswall, Staffordshire, who is recorded as -

     Esther's entry for the 1881 Census was recorded as -
          Esther Booth     Wife     Married     30     ---     STS. Cauldon.8

     Esther Birch emigrated to Canada.
Together with Clara Booth, Ann Booth, Cecilia Booth and Thomas Ralph Booth they departed from Liverpool via Londonderry, travelling Steerage Class on vessel Peruvian and arrived at Quebec, on 2 July 1882.9

     Esther Booth was left a Widow at the age of 70, on the death of her husband, Ralph on 5 April 1921 in Coquitlam, British Columbia, Canada.9

     Esther Booth, daughter of James Birch and Elizabeth Ratcliffe, died on Tuesday, 31 October 1922, in Coquitlam, British Columbia, Canada.9

     The majority of these details have been extracted from a copy of the Family Bible, in the possession of Lori Clarke and passed to me by Sheila Thomas in October 2007.10

     Ralph Booth, son of Thomas Booth and Cecilia Withington, died on Tuesday, 5 April 1921, in Coquitlam, British Columbia, Canada, he was survived by his wife Esther Booth.7

     Ralph was a Dairy Farmer and was brought to Canada by Borden's Milk who he worked for in Ontario until he moved to Coquitlam, which was then part of New Westminster, British Columbia where he started his own Dairy Farm. All of his children moved to Coquitlam with the family. The house was built in 1899 and it still exists, although not in the possession of the family any more.
