     The 1871 U.K.Census  listed him as a son of the Head of Household - Thomas Harper, at Osliston & Thurvaston, Derbyshire, who is recorded as -
          Thomas Harper     Head     Married     48     Ag. Lab.     DBY. Thurvaston.2
     Thomas's entry for the 1871 Census was recorded as -
          Thomas Harper     Son     8     Scholar     DBY. Longford.2

     In the U.K.Census of 3 April 1881, Thomas was recorded as residing at Culland Farm, Brailsford, Derbyshire.
     Thomas's listing is -
     Thomas Harper     Serv.     18     Unmarried     Farm Servant Indr.     DBY. Trusley (in the household of Joseph Rose, Farmer and his family).3
