     I think that Dennis's father might be THOMAS SWAINE whose children were baptised in 1815 in Bermondsey, at least it could be a starting point for further reseach. It should also be noted that Thomas's children, as shown in the 1841 & 1851 Census, under the SWAINE surname are 're-used' by Dennis and Ann Margaret for their children....

     She was Baptised on Friday, 28 April 1837 in St. Margaret's Church, Leicester, Leicestershire .
     St. Margaret's Church Baptismal Register Entry - "Emma Jane, daughter of Jane & Thomas Bennett, a Gardener of Russell Street, Leicester, was baptised."1

     Emma Jane Bennett, daughter of Thomas Bennett and Jane, was married to James Tipper, son of James Tipper and Eliza Cresswell, in Aston, Warwickshire, in 1865.
     Their Marriage was recorded in the Aston Registration District in the Oct-Nov-Dec Quarter of 1865.2

     Between 1867 and 1878 James & Emma were parents of at least two children in Aston. There are several infant deaths in Aston at the time, some if not all probably to James & Emma, including Thomas (Q4 1867), Annie (Q2 1870) aged 2, Frederick John (Q3 1872), Frank (Q1 1876) aged 1 and James (Q1 1877) aged 1; (There are no other Tipper families evident on the Aston Census in 1871; in 1881 there are two - (i) George and Charlotte nee Rooke born c1858, married Q1 1877 Birmingham, with their own children George c1877 born Birmingham and Arthur c1880 born Birmingham, who appear too late, and (ii) Geo (= George 1836 Cheadle T) and Eliza nee Johnson, married Q3 1863 Birmingham, with their own children Frederick 1863, Leonora 1865, George 1865 and Eliza 1872, who might possibly be parents of Frank and James, but are probably too early).3


     The 1871 U.K.Census listed her as the Wife of the Head of Household - James Tipper, at Rocky Lane, Aston, Warwickshire, who is recorded as -

     Emma's entry for the 1871 Census was recorded as -
