     Evelyn Grace Smart and Thomas Arthur Smart moved to 88 Cheltenham Road, Gloucester in 1942 when Thomas took a job at Rotol in Churchdown. Rotol made propellers for aircraft and was fundamental to the war effort. He continued to be employed by the Dowty Group, who took Rotol over, until his retirement.7
