     Emma Tipper, daughter of Martha Jackson, was born in Tutbury, Staffordshire, in 1879, her Birth was Registered at the Burton on Trent Register Office in the Oct-Nov-Dec Quarter of 1879.1,2

     She was born to Martha Jackson two years before Martha's marriage to Charles Tipper. Although recorded as a "daughter" of Charles on the 1891/1901 Censuses, and brought up within the family, there is no evidence yet that he was her natural father.
     Family memory records that she was known as Bertha or Berth, but all records are in the name of Emma (Elizabeth).3

     The 1881 U.K.Census listed her as a daughter of the Head of Household - Martha Jackson, at Burton Street, Tutbury, Staffordshire, who is recorded as -
