     Harry Tipper is recorded as being employed as a Steward on many ships operated by the White Star Line (later the Cunard White Star Line).
He sailed from c1919 until probably August 1953 on the ocean-going liners:
     Britannic; Ceramic; Megantic; Mauretania and finally the Queen Mary, out of Liverpool & Southampton to Boston and New York.
     He made some 200 crossings of the Atlantic on the commercial Transatlantic transport of Passengers including Cruises to the Caribean Islands as well.
     Harry was a member of the crew of R.M.S. Mauretania on her Maiden Voyage in 1939. There is of course a gap in the Sailings during WWII. The Mauretania was used as a Troop Ship, returning to Commercial use in 1947. Whether Harry was retained for work on the Troop Ship, has not been established. Harry eventually became a Chief Steward on R.M.S. Queen Mary.5

     Harry Vickers Lanyon Tipper, son of Alfred Thomas Oswald Tipper and Rose Lanyon, was married to Ivy Smith in Liverpool, Lancashire, in 1927.
     Their Marriage was recorded in the West Derby Registration District in the Jul-Aug-Sep Quarter of 1927.

     At sometime before 1953 the family moved to the Southampton area, where his daughters married.
     Between 1962 and 1972 the family was living at "Edelweiss, Nichol Road, Chandlers Ford, Hampshire.

     Harry Vickers Lanyon Tipper, son of Alfred Thomas Oswald Tipper and Rose Lanyon, died in 1972 in Hampshire, his Death was Registered at the Winchester Register Office in the Apr-May-Jun Quarter of 1972, He was survived by his wife, Ivy.6
