     Thomas Bull was left a Widower at the age of 34, on the death of his wife, Mary on 29 April 1867 in Moor Lane, Worsley, Lancashire.7,8

     On 31 October 1869, in Ecclesfield, (a village in the City of Sheffield), Thomas raped a 9 year old girl named Mary Ann Hardy. A warrant for his arrest was issued on November 9th and he was arrested November 10th. He was convicted at Leeds Assizes on 30 November 1869 and sentenced to 10 years in prison. He served his time in Leeds and Pentonville before being transferred to Portsmouth 18 August 1870.9

     Thomas died on Saturday, 31 March 1883 in Union Workhouse, Winton, Barton upon Irwell, Lancashire.

     Mary Bull, daughter of Thomas Sparling and Mary, died on Monday, 29 April 1867, in Moor Lane, Worsley, Lancashire,"Entry #411 - Mary Bull, Female, 36 years, Wife of John Bull, Carter. Died of Heart disease, 2 years, Certified. Informant - X the Mark of Charles Henshaw, In Attendance, Moor Lane, Worsley on 2 May 1867.", she was survived by her husband Thomas Bull.6,7

     She was buried at Swinton, Lancashire, on Thursday, 2 May 1867.
     St. Mary's Church Burial Register Entry - Entry #xx - Mary Bull aged 36 years, of Swinton, was Buried on 2nd May 1867.8
     The Death details above are not yet confirmed as being applicable to this Mary Bull. However, the 1871 Census shows a Thomas Bull, Widower, so it may be correct.
     The information on the Death Certificate, whilst it must be as given on Registering the Death, I believe that the name John Bull as Spouse IS INCORRECT. I do not know who the informant actually is it could be that the Informant was not in possession of the facts.9

     John Meacham was married to Hannah Bull on Sunday, 31 December 1854 at All Saints Church, Brailsford, Derbyshire, John Meachem, of Full Age, Bachelor, Shoemaker of Brailsford, son of Richard Meacham, Shoemaker & Hannah Bull, of Full Age, Spinster of Brailsford, daughter of Benjamin Bull, Labourer. By Banns. Witnessed by John Hough & Samuel Fox.2

     The U.K.Census of 7 April 1861 listed him as a Nephew of the Head of Household - Thomas Hill, at Town Street, Ednaston, Brailsford, Derbyshire, who is recorded as -
          Thomas Hill     Head     Unmarried     67     Shoemaker emp. 1 man     DBY. Ednaston.3
     John's entry for the 1861 Census was recorded as -
          John Meacham     Nephew     Married     33     Shoemaker     DBY. Ednaston.3

     John Meacham, son of Richard Meacham and Hannah Hill, died in 1868 in Derbyshire, his Death was Registered at the Ashbourne Register Office in the Oct-Nov-Dec Quarter of 1868, He was survived by his wife, Hannah.4
