     "family statements say that they travelled on the ship 'Victor' and settled in Goulburn, N.S.W. where William and Mary Holloway had settled a little time before. A check on Passenger Lists shows that a ship, 'The Port Victor' arrived in N.S.W. from Plymouth, England on 8 July 1887. There are no other refs. to the name 'Victor' in the lists of about this time.2

From initial Enlistment on 13 May 1915 at the age of 19 years he was sent to fight and served in Europe, principally with the ANZAC Troops at Gallipoli. He suffered from debilitating medical problems, spending many weeks in the Hospital facilities both in the conflict area and in England.
He returned to Australia in 1919.2
