Thomas Tipper

Thomas Tipper is considered to be the earliest known member of the Ellastone Group of the Upper Dove Valley Tipper Families.1,2

Thomas Tipper was born about 1480.

Thomas Tipper was married to Ellen around 1510.

In 1532/33 Thomas Typper living in Ellastone with wife Ellen and children Thomas, Robert, Alice and Joan ("A List of Families in the Archdeaconry of Stafford 1532-3", ed.Ann Kettle, Staffordshire Record Society 1976, held by Lichfield Records Office) - this is not a full census and the family probably had a degree of status or stability to be included on this list - they are the only Tippers in the entire List of 30,000 people.3

Thomas Tipper died in 1547, in Staffordshire.

Eliza Miller

ID# 22987, born 1839, died April 1865
Eliza Miller was born in Uttoxeter, Staffordshire, in 1839.1

Eliza Miller was married to Reuben Matthew Tipper, son of George Tipper and Elizabeth Elton, in Surrey in 1864.
Their Marriage was recorded in the Bermondsey Registration District in the Apr-May-Jun Quarter of 1864.2

I can only speculate that this Marriage is correct as it is the only one registered between a Reuben and Eliza between 1861 and 1865. To back this up there is an Eliza Miller listed on the 1861 Census at Hatton, which is only a short distance from where Reuben was in 1861. It is therefore possible that they knew each other.3

Eliza Tipper died in April 1865 in Stoke on Trent, Staffordshire, her Death was Registered at the Stoke on Trent Register Office in the Apr-May-Jun Quarter of 1865, She was survived by her husband, Reuben.4
