     Mary Ann Humphries, daughter of Henry Humphries, was married to Eli Tipper, son of Margaret Tipper, on Saturday, 13 September 1884 at St. James' Church, Longton, Stoke on Trent, Staffordshire, Stoke on Trent.
     Eli Tipper     a Bachelor aged 30     a Labourer of 5 Lower Hill Street, the son of Bernard Tipper a Labourer was Married to Mary Ann McNichols, a Widow aged 37 years, a Seamstress of 5 Lower Hill Street, daughter of Henry Humphries, a Cabinet Maker, Both Signed, no Tipper Witnesses.2

     In the U.K.Census of 5 April 1891, Mary was recorded as residing at Spittal's Workhouse, Penkhull, Stoke on Trent, Staffordshire.
     Mary's listing is -
     Mary Tipper     Inmate     Married     41     Tailoress     SOM. Bath.3

     In the U.K.Census of 31 March 1901, Mary was recorded as residing at Spittal's Workhouse, Penkhull, Stoke on Trent, Staffordshire.
     Mary's listing is -
     Mary Ann Tipper     Inmate     Widow     66     Dressmaker     SOM. Bath.4

     Mary Ann Humphries, daughter of Henry Humphries, died in 1901 in Stoke on Trent, Staffordshire, her Death was Registered at the Stoke on Trent Register Office in the Apr-May-Jun Quarter of 1901.5

     I have not been able to locate Mary Ann on any Census before 1891, nor any Marriage to a McNichols. Her Birth date is satisfactory only for her 1891 Census entry but elsewhere is 'variable.6'

     Anne Lowell was married to Thomas Tipper, son of George Tipper and Mary Howett, on Saturday, 27 August 1864 at St. Michael's Church, Rocester, Staffordshire.
     St. Michael's Church Marriage Register - "Thomas Tipper, a Bachelor of Rocester, son of George Tipper, a Bricklayer was Married to Anne Lowell, a Spinster, daughter of Thomas Lowell, a Limeburner. Witnessed by Thomas Little and Mary Salt."1,2

     Anne Tipper died in 1866 in Rocester, Staffordshire, her Death was Registered at the Uttoxeter Register Office in the Jan-Feb-Mar Quarter of 1866, She was survived by her husband, Thomas.3

     She was buried in St. Michael's Church, Rocester on Saturday, 24 March 1866.1
