     "No baptism has been located - presumed son of Richard and Mary, who were the only family breeding in Rugeley at the time; or alternatively of one of Richard's sisters - in either case, his grandfather would be Thomas Tipper born in 1728. Richard and Mary's ten other children were all baptised in Rugeley, but there were none between James in December 1796 and Richard in August 1800."2

     Richard Tipper, son of Thomas Tipper and Dorothy Landor, was married to Mary Brindley on Tuesday, 14 April 1789 at St. Augustine's Church, Rugeley, Staffordshire.

          Richard Tipper was a Witness of the Signatures at the Marriage of James White and Ann Tipper on 21 October 1799 in St. Augustine's Church, Rugeley, Staffordshire,
     The details from the Marriage Certificate are - James WHITEx & Ann TIPPERx were Married by Banns. Witnessed by Richard TIPPERx & Sarah TIPPERx.2

Richard Tipper was listed as an Executor and a Beneficiary of the Will of William Tipper, which was Proved and Probate granted on the Estate on 24 October 1807 at Lichfield Diocesan Court; The Will of William Tipper, Farmer of Yoxall was proved: Executors - Ann Tipper, wife of William and Richard Tipper, brother; a Life Interest to his widow and then all his estate to his brother, Richard.3

     Richard Tipper, son of Thomas Tipper and Dorothy Landor, died in September 1826, in Staffordshire"aged 64 years", he was survived by his wife Mary Tipper.4

     He was buried at St. Augustine's Church, Rugeley, Staffordshire, on Friday, 22 September 1826.
     Cemetery Register Entry - Richard Tipper of Slitting Mill, aged 64 years was Buried.5,4,2

     Slitting Mill Village has also been known as Rolling Mill, and Stonehouse.
The name Slitting Mill is derived from the type of work carried out along the stream where mills would split (slit) wood and metal.6


     Richard and Ann were parents of at least 10 children in Rugeley; no local male line apparent beyond their grandsons, but a large Liverpool dynasty through their presumed son Thomas.6
