Complexion was 'Sallow', hair and eyes 'Brown'. His stated Religion was 'Roman Catholic'.
     His Service Number was 28938, awarded a Good Conduct Pay Increase on 8 March 1897 but was Discharged from the Army on payment of £18 on 1 January 1898.
     His Military History shows that he served 'At Home' from 8 March 1895 to 15 May 1896 and then in South Africa from 16 May 1896 until 1 January 1998.
     At the time of his discharge, his father is stated as - Thomas Tipper of 13 High Street, Alton near Cheadle, Staffordshire.4

     He was buried in the Municipal Cemetery, Uttoxeter in April 1934.11
