     Samuel Salt, son of Samuel Salt and Ann James, was married to Dorothy Tipper, daughter of John Tipper and Elizabeth Bentley, on Saturday, 11 August 1832 at St. Peter's Church, Stoke on Trent, Staffordshire.
     St. Peter's Church Marriage Register - "Dorothy Tipper, Spinster of the Parish was married to Samuel Salt, Bachelor of the Parish; both Signed."1

          In the 1841 U.K.Census, held on Sunday, 6 June 1841, Samuel was recorded as the first person in the Household at Alderley Lane, Dilhorne, Staffordshire,
