     The 1881 U.K.Census  listed him as a son of the Head of Household - Radolphus Roome, at 120 Edensor Road, Longton, Stoke-on-Trent, Staffordshire, who is recorded as -
          Adolphus Roome     Head     Married     55     Potter's Foreman     STS. Longton.2
     John's entry for the 1881 Census was recorded as -
          John Roome     Son     ---     8     Scholar     STS. Longton.2
