Ellen Day, daughter of George Day and Mary A., was born in Barnsley, Gloucestershire, in 1856, where her father was 'a Game Keeper.1'

Ellen Day was listed in the 1871 census, with her family living in Monmouthshire, where her father is still a Game Keeper. (It is probable that as Ellen lived there in her childhood she may have remembered it as her place of birth.2

Ellen Day, daughter of George Day and Mary A., was married to William Tipper, son of George Tipper and Ann Powner, about 1875.
No Marriage Registration has been located.2

The 1881 U.K.Census listed her as the Wife of the Head of Household - William Tipper, at Hem Heath, Trentham, Stoke on Trent, Staffordshire, who is recorded as -

It should be noted that the names of the children listed in the 1911 Census are as written. I have assumed that they were actually the children as born, by date.2

No U.K. Death has been found for Ellen Thomas. She appears to have moved to the U.S.A., probably to join her daughter Dora, as in 1929 her daughter Dowell listed "Mother, Mrs. Ellen Thomas of 10555 Glenville Avenue, Cleveland, Ohio" as her contact point when visiting North America.10
