He had been employed as a Bricklayer, had a scar between first and second fingers on his right hand, was 5' 9" tall, weighed 154 lbs, chest 36 " expanding to 38". Complexion was 'Sallow', hair and eyes 'Brown'. His stated Religion was 'Roman Catholic'.
     His Service Number was 28938, awarded a Good Conduct Pay Increase on 8 March 1897 but was Discharged from the Army on payment of £18 on 1 January 1898.
     His Military History shows that he served 'At Home' from 8 March 1895 to 15 May 1896 and then in South Africa from 16 May 1896 until 1 January 1998.
     At the time of his discharge, his father is stated as - Thomas Tipper of 13 High Street, Alton near Cheadle, Staffordshire.4

     Isabella was married to George Thomas Tipper, son of Thomas Tipper and Margaret Ainsworth, around 1898 at Cape Town, Western Province, South Africa.
     Marriage date assumed from his Military Service Records.1

     The 1901 U.K.Census listed her as the Wife of the Head of Household - George Thomas Tipper, at 2 Stone Moor, Padiham, Lancashire, who is recorded as -
          George T. Tipper     Head     Married     28     Bricklayer     STS. Alton.2
     Isabella's entry for the 1901 Census was recorded as -
          Isabella Tipper     Wife     Married     23     ---     South Africa. Cape Town.2

     Isabella Tipper died on Monday, 29 April 1901 in Burnley, Lancashire, her Death was Registered at the Burnley Register Office in the Apr-May-Jun Quarter of 1901, She was survived by her husband, George.3
