Adeline Tipper was left with two young sons, but very comfortably off - It would be normal for a significant part of his estate to have been left as a Life Interest to provide an income to his wife, with the capital reverting to his children on her death; that death was a very long time coming.
In 1922 Adeline Finnigan, a widow aged 46, English, no occupation arrived 24.10.1922 New York on SS Majestic sailing from Southampton, destination Cleveland, Ohio, last abode Colwyn Bay, Wales, next of kin there R I Wood of Aberhold, Colwyn Bay [not identified], travelling with her sons Philip aged 11 and Frances aged 9 presumably she was visiting her sister Dora.

Not a bad end for the daughter of a bricklayer and a mother who did not even know where she was born.11
