Staunton.1      Fatal epidemics were commomplace among the children of the Tutbury Mill families; the winter of 1854 appears to have been particularly awful - the St. Mary's Tutbury Burial Register shows thirteen deaths of children aged between one and ten years in just a nine week period from 3 March 1854; Emma and Eliza are not included, and presumably did not receive a C of E Burial.2

     Samuel Tomkinson Dale, son of Daniel Dale and Mary Tomkinson, died in 1944 in Trough Bank, Maddeley, Staffordshire, his Death was Registered at the Newcastle under Lyme Register Office in the Apr-May-Jun Quarter of 1944.12,13      It is recalled that Samuel was renowned for his ploughing abilities and that he won many local ploughing competitions.14

     Their Marriage was recorded in the Newcastle under Lyme Registration District in the Jan-Feb-Mar Quarter of 1911.2

     Henry Parton has not been located in the UK Census of 2 April 1911.3

     Henry Parton was left a Widower on the Death of his wife, Sarah, whose Death was Registered in the Newcastle under Lyme Registration District, in the Jul-Aug-Sep Quarter of 1940.4

     Henry Parton, son of William Parton and Ann, died on Sunday, 29 April 1962 in Alsager, Cheshire, his Death was Registered at the Crewe Register Office in the Apr-May-Jun Quarter of 1962.5,6
