     Fred Tipper Clarke, son of Edward George Clarke and Emma Tipper, was married to Emily Jane Wadsworth, daughter of John Thomas Wadsworth and Ann Alcock, on Monday, 31 March 1902 at St. Michael's Parish Church, Macclesfield, Cheshire.
     St. Michael's Parish Church Marriage Register - "Entry #349 - Fred Tipper Clarke, aged 22 years, a Bachelor, Assistant Ironmonger of 14 Stream Terrace, Stockport, son of Edward George Clarke, a Printer was married by Banns to Emily Jane Wadsworth, aged 21 years, a Spinster, Dressmaker of 38 & 40 Jordangate , Macclesfield, the daughter of John Thomas Wadsworth, a Cabinet Maker, Witnessed by John Thomas Wadsworth and William Clarke."3,8

          In the 1911 U.K.Census, held on Sunday, 2 April 1911, Fred was recorded as the Head of the Household at 46 Sandy Lane, Stockport, Cheshire, also in the Household were Emily Jane Clarke and Horace Cyril Clarke,

     I have not been able to locate any existing evidence of military service for Fred Tipper Clarke in WWI, the records were extensivley damaged in WWII, but close examintion of a photograph shows that his rank was Lance Corporal and his Cap Badge is that of a member of the Army Ordnance Corp.10
