Marion Goodall

ID# 1945, born 17 March 1844, died 1918
Father*Richard Goodall
Marion Goodall, daughter of Richard Goodall, was born in Shirley, Derbyshire, on Sunday, 17 March 1844, details extracted from Family Bible, in possession of great grand daughter of Ada Florence Bull.1

Marion Goodall was married to Mark Bull on Saturday, 29 October 1864 at St. Michael's Church, Shirley, Derbyshire, Ref. # - 390 - SHY/01/031.2

The 1871 U.K.Census listed her as the Wife of the Head of Household - Mark Bull, at 66 Wellington Street, Burton Extra, Staffordshire, who is recorded as -
Mark Bull     Head     Married     31     Railway Engine Driver     DBY. Osliston & Thurvaston.3
Marion's entry for the 1871 Census was recorded as -
Marion Bull     Wife     Married     27     ---     DBY. Shirley.3

Marion Goodall was left a Widow on the Death of her husband, Mark, whose Death was Registered in the Burton Registration District, in the Oct-Nov-Dec Quarter of 1879.4

In the 1881 U.K.Census, held on Sunday, 3 April 1881, Marion was recorded as the Head of the Household at 85 Grange Street, Burton upon Trent, Staffordshire, also in the Household were Ada Florence Bull, Thomas Mark Bull, Agnes Bull, William Richard Bull, Matthew Henry Bull and John Robert Bull,
the listing for the Household is -

; Matt. Hy. Bull     Son     ---     6     Scholar     STS. Burton on Trent.5
          ; John Rob. Bull     Son     ---     2     ---     STS. Burton on Trent.5

The details entered here regarding Marion's Marriage in Oct-Nov-Dec Quarter 1881 have been extracted from the FreeBMD website which shows the Original GRO Entries in the Index. I have not been able to establish who John Tuckfield actually is. Looking at the 1881 Census, there seems to be no likely candidate, and without a look at the actual Marriage Register or Certificate this can't be verified. To compound things - there is only one candidate to die at about this time. However on the 1891 Census, Marion is recorded as Wife of Charles Bull and a Marriage is on FreeBMD in 1890. So either The Death of John Tuckfield is not recorded / Transcribed or she married Charles bigamously...
