     A glass cutting factory had opened in Tutbury in 1810, which extended its operationsn to glass making (= blowing) in 1836. Skilled workers were recruited from existing glass making centres around the country and Jesse appears to have been among the first wave of incomers to settle in the village.³

     Jesse Plinston was left a Widower on the Death of his wife, Sarah, whose Death was Registered in the Burton on Trent Registration District, in the Oct-Nov-Dec Quarter of 1867.⁶

     Jesse Plinstone received unemployment pay from the FGMFS Tutbury District continuously from October 1866 to January 1869. He is described as a "Workman", the most skilled in the Glass Blowers' hierarchy, in charge of a "chair" of four men working a furnace. The records indicate that he was transferred back to his Warrington birthplace at the end of this period, under the Society's scheme for moving unemployed glassmakers to other parts of the country where work was available.
No further trace of Jesse has been found. There was fairly frequent emigration of glass makers from England to North America and Australia at this time, though Jesse was perhaps rather too old to have taken that route.³

     Sarah Tipper, daughter of James Tipper and Sarah Martin, was born in Tutbury, Staffordshire, on Monday, 14 August 1815.
     She was Baptised on Tuesday, 12 September 1815 in High Street Wesleyan Chapel, Uttoxeter, Staffordshire.

     On 25 July 1836 at Derby County Assizes, Edward Bown was sentenced to Transportation for Life for Horse Stealing.
He was transported to New South Wales on the vessel "Norofolk", departing on 27 October 1836.³

     Neither Elizabeth nor Edward Bown have been located on the 1841 / 1851 UK Censuses, it is possible that Elizabeth followed Edward to Australia.⁴
