For reasons not yet discovered, William Bull may also have been known as Samuel Bull. His name is recorded as Samuel on the 1851, 1861 & 1871 Census entries, but returns to being William from the 1881 Census onwards. There is little doubt that Samuel and William are one and the same from the information currently extracted from the records.1 William Bull was born in 1840 in Burnaston, Derbyshire.2
After 1850, William was usually known as Samuel Bull.
