     "Former post lady for Parwich and Alsop-en-le-Dale, Mrs. Gladys Tipper of 6 Greenhead Crescent, Biggin-by-Hartington, died at Parwich Hospital.
     The Funeral of 69 year-old Mrs Tipper took place at Parwich Parish Church, before cremation at Markeaton.
     Mrs Tipper was a chimney sweep during WW2 and also during the war she arranged entertainment and outings. She then held a paper round and was Post Lady for many years.
     Among her many other interests she was Stewardess of Parwich British Legion for about 10 years.
